Mantis Use Cases
Mantis can be leveraged by any sort of application or framework that wants to derive benefits from chain-agnostic, optimized intent settlement. These platforms will be able to send intents on behalf of their users to Mantis, where these intents will be settled.
In general, benefits to any project tapping into Mantis are as follows:
- Intent-Centricity: The flexibility of intents provides a greater opportunity for best execution and alleviates the need to manage multiple complex and interdependent transactions.
- Chain Abstraction: Cross-chain transactions can be quite valuable opportunities for users, but carrying out these operations can often be complex. Mantis carries out and abstracts away the complexity involved in this process.
- The Inter-Blockchain Communication Protocol: On Mantis, intent settlement is optimized and executed cross-chain. This is augmented by Mantis’s synergies with the Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) Protocol, a cross-chain communication protocol that is natively secured and does not require trust in any third party for bridging.
- The Picasso Network: By leveraging the growing reach of the IBC via Picasso, Mantis coordinates actors operating in different domains (some on-chain, some off-chain) to realize better execution to the end user and higher MEV to participants of the system.
- Solvers: On Mantis, solvers observe intents in the Mantis rollup mempool and compete to deliver the best solution for intents. This ensures best execution for the user while keeping intent information as private as possible to prevent frontrunning.
- Simple Integration Process via the Mantis Intents SDK: This SDK interacts with the expression layer of Mantis where users express their intents and these intents are received and interpreted by solvers. The intent SDK allows intent expression to be generalized, so Mantis can process and execute intents from many sources. These sources thus leverage the Mantis/Picasso architecture and become intent-centric themselves.
- Revenue Share: Any project sending unique orderflow through Mantis is eligible for a revenue share once orderflow is processed.
A few major examples of types of projects that can benefit from integrating Mantis are described below:
Digital Wallets
When crypto/digital wallets integrate the Mantis Protocol, users will be able to input intents for swaps (and later other operations) through Mantis directly within wallet applications. This streamlines the wallet UX while allowing users to benefit from best execution.
AI Agents
Mantis allows AI agents to become even more performant than they already are by tapping into the Mantis solver network to optimize execution. There are a number of ways AI agents can interact with intents on Mantis. For instance, we recommend that AI agents submit intents on behalf of users and have these intents solved and executed over the Mantis framework. These intents could also be strategically timed or incorporate other conditions such as dollar cost averaging (DCA) based on AI.
Trading Bots
Similarly to AI agents, trading bots can be further optimized by integrating with Mantis. This will allow bots projects to identify more cross-chain opportunities while delivering best execution and streamlining the user experience - users will be able to continue using the bots they are familiar with on the platform of their choice (such as Telegram).
On- and Off-Chain Games
Mantis can be used to enhance how users manage in-game assets. Specifically, intents to buy, sell, or swap these in-game assets can be processed as intents on Mantis. As a result, games are more streamlined, transparent, fair, and user-friendly. Moreover, in-game assets can be cross-chain capable, increasing their potential reach.
Perpetual Futures
Mantis intents can enhance the perpetual futures (perps) market with cross-chain capabilities and automatic identification of the best transaction routes. These benefits can be leveraged by perps protocols, DEXes, and DEX aggregators. In fact, Mantis itself can serve as a sort of cross-chain perp DEX aggregator, as solvers can scan various perp DEXes for the best opportunities for users seeking to participate in perps.
